Building Schools in Africa with Mellon Educate – Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge.

Over 30 members of staff from across Peter Duffy Limited and DrainsAid are taking on the famous Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in support of Michael Duffy and Chris O’Hora who are raising money in aid of the charity, Mellon Educate.

On the 18th June, 2016, they will set off from Horton-in-Ribblesdale to complete the 25 mile hike, taking on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in under 12 hours, and in doing so raising money towards their target of £10,000.

Mellon Educate is an international volunteer-based charity which has embarked on a 10-year initiative to provide educational assistance for more than 100,000 of Africa’s most impoverished children. They need volunteers and financial support from people and organisations to achieve this ambitious target. Each year they hold a Building Blitz week when international volunteers join together with the charity in Africa and help, ‘hands on’ in a building project.

Peter Duffy Limited wins prestigious Industry Awards

DrainsAid parent company, Peter Duffy Limited was one of the winners at this year’s Future Water Awards held on 25 February in Stratford-upon-AvonThe company were winners of the Health and Safety Award for the ‘Safety on the Move’ initiative.

The award reinforces the company’s commitment to maintaining the highest health and safety standards, using the latest technology.

The same initiative was also a winner in the 2015 DCWW awards and is based on the use of the workmobile application for the use and management of point of work risk assessments and safety reporting.

DrainsAid, working with Amey, to provide (Sewer) rehabilitation services to Yorkshire Water

DrainsAid, the specialist drainage and sewer rehabilitation division of Peter Duffy Ltd, has partnered with Amey, one of the UK’s leading public and regulated services companies, to provide services to Yorkshire Water.

Amey was recently awarded the contract to deliver waste water services across the whole of Yorkshire Water’s region and DrainsAid will be working with Amey on a variety of projects.

Since the work with Amey started in October 2015, DrainsAid has successfully undertaken various sewer rehabilitation based projects for Yorkshire Water across the South and West Yorkshire regions, with DrainsAid working on both reactive residential drain repair and larger planned proactive schemes.

DrainsAid get connected with Derby Homes

DrainsAid has been awarded a place on Derby Homes Ltd specialist supplier framework for sewer connections and associated repairs on Derby City Council’s 13,500 properties.

Derby Homes Ltd, which was created by Derby City Council to manage, maintain and improve its council houses and estates, selected the award-winning drainage specialist by formal tender earlier this month.

Jason Monaghan, Sales Manager at DrainsAid, said:

“The key to winning this particular tender was our superb track-record for safely delivering sewer connections and repairs to leading regional water companies and main contractors throughout the country. It is this, combined with our investment in an innovative field-based GPS work management system, that our team is so successful in securing these prestigious contracts.

DrainsAid secure Network Rail Contract

DrainsAid, the specialist drainage and sewer rehabilitation division of Peter Duffy Ltd, has successfully secured a two year contract with Network Rail for the management of the company’s septic tank assets on the London North West (LNW) route.

DrainsAid will now assist the railway maintenance specialists with planned and reactive drainage services for Network Rail assets throughout the region, including sites in remote and challenging locations. This service is crucial for the company as without the benefit of mains drainage, septic tank maintenance is critical for the welfare of Network Rail staff working at the sites.
